Stand Out Moments From The Best Gigs You`ve Seen.

I know I will be able to think of heaps more but I will start with a couple that just come to the top of my soup.

The first one is really the ultimate in cheese but really knocked me back to see it. It was that moment in Hey Jude when, after the singalong - now all the boys - now all the girls...etc - part in the middle, the whole band kicked back in - just a real shiver down the spine moment, I can`t say out of the blue but it really knocked me for six.

The second one that`s just bubbling to the surface was seeing Page and Plant in `98 at the MEN, apart from the whole gig being a revelation (having seen them a couple of other times on the previous tours), the solo that Mr Page played in No Quarter has to be one of the most musical and magical that I`ve ever heard.

My major stand out gig memory is that of Ry Cooder at the Apollo, Manchester at the end of the 70's. It was one of a series of three I saw there, each one was superb and totally different from each other. The diamond moment was the performance of the soul classic 'Dark End Of The Street'. The vocals by three black dudes were sensational and the song ended with a slide solo that semed to go on forever and yet ended too soon. Pure goosebumps, would have died happy at that very moment. ^^ Damn, I thought that I would have been allowed to put that all behind me.
There is of course the unforgettable "How did you find out about the gig?" - although I don`t think these belong in a thread of this name - want to start a new worst/most embarrassing gigs thread anyone??
